IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE CANDIDATES BY JKSSB.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE CANDIDATES APPEARING FOR THE OBJECTIVE TYPE WRITTEN TEST TO BE CONDUCTED BY THE J&K SERVICES SELECTION BOARD (JKSSB).


Candidates are advised to closely read and comply with these instructions, as also the instructions given by the Invigilator/ Venue Superintendent/ Supervisor at the Written Test Venue. 


1. General Instructions 

a. The candidates are advised to bring Clip Card Board for writing answer sheets. 

b. Entry to the Examination Hall shall be regulated strictly as per the Admit Card.

c. Candidates are requested to report for appearing in the written test at the allotted test centre on the 
date and reporting time specified in the Admit card. No candidate will be allowed to enter the test 
centre 15 minutes after the Test Start Time. 

d. No candidate will be permitted entry into the Written Test Venue without the Admit Card and a Photo Identity Card. Please note that apart from Admit Card, you will also be required to produce a Photo Identity card (Voter Identity Card / Driving License / Passport / PAN Card/ Ration Card/ Student Identity Card/ Identity Card issued by Employer or any other photo ID issued by a Government/ Local authority/ Gazetted Officer) as proof of your identity at the time of written test. 

e. Both the Admit Card and your Photo Identity Card must be produced for verification in the examination hall. If you do not produce your Admit Card and a Photo Identity card, you will not be permitted to take the written test.

f. Photo Missing on Admit Cards - In case of photograph missing on the admit cards of the candidate, following process will be followed. The candidate will paste the passport size photo on the admit card and get the same attested by Gazetted officer. The candidate will also carry one additional passport size photo for pasting on attendance sheet. Without the photo candidate will not be permitted in the exam centre. All candidates pasting photo on admit card should necessarily carry a Govt. photo ID proof. 

g. Strictly follow the instructions given by the Invigilator/ Venue Superintendent/ Supervisor and those given on the Question Booklet and OMR Answer Sheet. 

h. Only Blue or Black Ball Point Pens are required. YOU NEED NOT BRING ANY PENCILS.

i. The maximum time permitted for the written test shall be 180 minutes, and it shall carry 180 questions for a total of 180 marks. 

j. There is NO negative marking for wrong answers. 

k. Candidates shall not be allowed to carry any calculators, mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, papers,notes, books, scanning devices, pagers, headphones, earplugs, laptops, I-Pads, Tablet PCs and/or other computing/ communication devices into the Written Test Venue. Candidates shall be responsible for safe-keeping of such materials outside the Venue because arrangement for their safe-keeping cannot be assured by JKSSB. Candidates found using or possessing such unauthorized materials, indulging in copying or impersonation or adopting unfair means are liable to be summarily disqualified and may also be subjected to penal action. 

l. Insolent behaviour, disorderly conduct or using of/attempting to use unfair practices by a candidate 
shall render the candidate liable for disqualification and legal action. 

m. Request for change of Test Centre/Test Date & Address of Communication will not be entertained 
under any circumstances. 

n. JKSSB will not reimburse any costs incurred by the candidate for travelling in order to take the 
Written Test. 

o. Violation of examination norms in any form inside the examination hall including failure to submit the 
Question Paper & OMR Answer Sheet to the concerned invigilator will lead to cancellation of the 
candidature. 

p. Your Candidature is provisional and no one claims his/her selection on the basis of the 
Admit Card. The Admit Card is being issued on the basis of information filled by the 
candidate in the application form. In case it is found at later stage that the candidate does 
not fulfil any of the eligibility condition, his/her candidature will stand cancelled. 


2. Instructions for Question Booklet 

a. Write your Roll Number on the Question Booklet. 

b. The candidates must check that the Question Booklet has all multiple choice questions in sequence. 
If any discrepancy is found, immediately report to the Invigilator and request for another Question 
Booklet. 

c. Space has been provided at the end of the Question Booklet for rough work. 

d. Considering the tight time span, do not waste your time on a question which you find to be difficult. 
Go on solving questions one by one and come back to the difficult questions at the end. 


3. Instructions for OMR Answer Sheet

a. Use only Blue or Black ball point pen throughout the OMR Answer sheet, for filling Name, Roll 
Number, Question Booklet No., Question Booklet Series, Category, Disability, Ex-Servicemen, 
Gender, etc. and for shading the ovals. 

b. Write your Roll Number, Question Booklet Series and Question Booklet Number on the OMR 
Answer Sheet carefully and sign at the appropriate place. Please note that if you do not write the 
Question Booklet Series and Question Booklet Number carefully in the OMR Answer Sheet, 
your OMR Answer Sheet will be treated as invalid and will not be evaluated.

c. Each question will be followed by four options. Your task will be to choose the correct answer from 
the options and darken the relevant oval on the OMR Answer Sheet. 

d. Completely shade the oval so that the letter inside the oval is not visible. Darken only one oval for 
each answer. Scratching, overwriting, tick-marks and multiple answers will be considered as wrong. 

e. OMR Answer Sheets will be processed by electronic means. Invalidation of the OMR Answer Sheet 
due to its folding/ wrinkling or putting of stray marks on it or due to any other damage to it as well as 
incomplete/ incorrect filling of the Answer Sheet or overwriting on the oval or use of whitener, will be 
the sole responsibility of the candidate. Rough work MUST NOT be done on the OMR answer 
sheet. Use the blank pages at the end of your test booklet for rough work. 

f. After finishing the written test, hand over the completed OMR Answer Sheet and Question Paper to 
the Invigilator.

g. No candidate shall be allowed to leave the examination hall before the conclusion of the written test 
and without handing over the OMR Answer Sheet and Question Paper to the invigilator concerned.
